Chicken Carbornara

Here's a yummy dinner! The chicken carbornara was from Jenny-her blog is: http://turnipgreensandsweettea.blogspot.com/

Yummy crescent rolls

I thought I'd try a new recipe the other night. I found one I have wanted to try for a while and thought I'd give it a go. I should have known I bit off a little too much when the recipe called for 10 1/2 cups of flour. I made the recipe though, and ended up having over 50 delicious crescent rolls. Our neighbors enjoyed hot crescents that night. Next time I am definelty cutting the recipe down. If any of you want the recipe, let me know. It came from one of my sister in laws. Yummy recipe!

Chicken & Pasta

This is a recipe we make quite a bit at the house. Saute  2-3 chicken breasts in olive oil, lightly dusting with salt and pepper. After they are a bit brown on top, pop in pre-heated oven at 400. While chicken fishes in oven, make pasta of your choice. For the sauce, I use Bertolli and add a tablespoon of olive oil and teaspoon of garlic salt. Heat for 5 or so minutes until it's simmering. Drain pasta, top mozzerala cheese, sauce, chicken and black olives.

Another cake

Here was a cake I thought I had posted, but didn't. I made it Mother's Day.
I spent hours and hours on the flowers & leaves:) That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Sparkling Raspberry Punch

Many of you have asked for my punch recipe, so today I'll give it up. It's really refreshing and looks pretty as well. Purchase raspberry gingerale, raspberry sherbet and frozen or fresh berries.  You pour the ginerale in the container and top with berries. Then you put the raspberry sherbet on top. The sherbet needs about 20 minutes to start to melt. Do not stir. Enjoy!

Steak & Lobster!

After our "grill incident" and our current situation, we haven't had steak for months. (For those of you who aren't aware, the grill incident involved a fire, the fire department, Jason accusing me of trying to kill him and me getting mad because I had to go to the grocery store on Sunday and buy more dinner.) Anyway, I am so sick of eating hamburger meat 1000 different ways. Pasta as well.

I made us steak, asparagus with carrot wrapped around, creamy mashed potatoes topped with clarified butter and broiled lobster bites. YUM. Oh it felt wonderful to eat good food! There were no leftovers that night.

Reindeer cards

I really love this stamp and the little bling bling on the antlers. Although not a traditional Christmas card, I really like the black/white. Feels good to be creating again!

Lemon Cake

I got a call late Tuesday afternoon asking me to make a cake for Wednesday. It was last minute and I didn't think I would have time to get it done. I had a super busy day on Wednesday, but managed to get the cake done. It is absolutely the best lemon cake I have ever had!

Directions: Purchase lemon box cake, 1 container of frosting, 1 can lemon pie filling, 1 regular size tub of cool whip. Make the cake mix as directed, however only use 2 eggs. Pour into your greased baking dish. Use a large spoon and put dallops of the canned pie filling all over the raw cake mix until pie filling can is empty. Put in oven 25 degrees higher than box instructions, and bake 35-40 minutes. Remove from oven. The cake needs to cool about 3 hours before you decorate. For frosting, mix tub of cool whip and the lemon frosting. When frosted, you need to keep the cake in the refrigerator.

Feeling Neglected?

I absolutely have not forgot about all of you! Life has been super busy for me as of late. Busier than normal I should say. I am currently taking 9 hours this semester, working part time at 2 gyms, serving as ward missionary, and oh yea, I have 3 mischevious children who require constant supervision!

Yes, there have been some emotional breakdowns lately. I have so much going out of my proverbial cup, and feel it isn't being filled at times. Woe is me, right? Moving on and forward. For those of you who know me, you know I never do anything part way. It's all or nothing. If nothing else, I will go to my grave (indeed early) and people will know I was a diligent worker.

Honestly, I don't know how I manage to juggle everything. Life for me is full of stress with every moment of my day planned. I can say with the utmost assurance, all that I get done is through God. He loves me and guides me through the tough times. I am so thankful to know that even when life is complete chaos I can take a minute to visit with my heavenly father and see the reassurance and comfort I so desperately need.

All of that being said, I had to take a break from everything (even my classwork) for a few days and just make cards. I was so stressed that I couldn't function. I needed a break and I took it. Crafting, for me is my outlet. Self-expression, creativity, pride and a sense of accomplishment all come from crafting and cooking for me.

As you look through the cards, give me feedback on the ones you like most, so I know which ones to make more of. Most of the cards posted today were used with the cricut cartridge Forever Young. I absolutely love it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I have had it over a year and never used it. Now, I can't put it away! Oh, and I'm on a "bling bling" kick too. Maybe my daughter is breaking me down, because I find myself putting bling on everything.

Here's the last card post for today. I played around a bit, but ended up loving the end result. It was double-embossed. The background was dry embossed and all the words were wet embossed. Very classy card.

Until next time ladies (and a few gents), enjoy!

Chic

I recently hosted a girls luncheon. This friends card is one I made as a thank you for attending. Unfortunately, I didn't have them ready on the day of our luncheon. I am passing them out as I see all the ladies though. Super simple, cute and easy.
